Why an independent expert report is so important
The opposing insurance company wants to pay as little as possible. An independent expert report documents the full damage — repair costs, diminished value, loss of use — and forms the basis for you to receive everything you are entitled to. In a non-fault accident, the opposing insurance must pay for the report, not you.
What does it cost?
For accident victims: nothing. Under German law (§ 249 BGB), in the event of a non-fault accident, the at-fault party's insurance covers the costs for the expert report and legal counsel. There are no hidden fees.
